Associated with the sign of Taurus, in medieval times chrysoprase was engraved with the image of a bull to gvie strength and protection to the wearer. Chrysoprase is said to have fallen from the apple trees in heaven. It is recommended by Hildgard von Bingen for turning anger into soft words of forgiveness.
Chrysoprase is credited with a number of powers: banishing greed, selfishness and carelessness, stirring the imagination, calming irritability and the pains of gout.
